How to run Quicken on 2 Macs, each with own datafile

I run the latest version on my Mac My understanding is that I can install this on a second Mac. My wife manages her father's finances. Can I install Q on her Mac where she can use a separate datafile without issues? I know I need my Quicken ID for both Macs but I'm not sure about the Cloud sync. It's not needed for my wife's but I find it useful and for me it works. I don't know if the Quicken cloud sync is just by Quicken ID or if it also uses the file names so that the data does not get commingled (in other words I the files are totally unrelated and I don't want the sync to mess it up). If it is just by ID, other than turning off sync, does anything else need to be done? Thanks.

You can run Quicken on two different Macs using different data files without them interfering with each other. Just make sure that each file has a different cloud account nickname in Settings → Connected Services.

(And just to be clear, you can even have two different data files on the same Mac that way; they don't have to be on different Macs.)

Thanks Jon. I wasn't aware the nickname came into play. To be clear, I can leave Sync on as long as the nicknames are different, correct?

My wife and I both have Macs so my plan would be to install it on hers; I do our finances on mine.
