Can I just view a backup from a couple of weeks ago? I don't want to restore, just need to correct payee names that got changed by mistake. I'm using Quicken Classic Premier, 8.0.1, MAC OS 15.3.1
@melwatkin@gmail.com Jon is correct that you can only restore a backup file. However, when you double click the file and choose Restore This File, you will then be asked to name the restored file and where to put it via a standard mac file dialog. When this dialog comes up, choose a name that's very different from your regular file and store it somewhere different (like the desktop for example).
You will then have a separate file current as of the date of the backup. This file will be open in Quicken. To return to your normal file, click menu File > Open Recent and choose your regular file's name. You can then switch back and forth between your regular file and the restored backup using the Open Recent menu. The only downside is that you can't have two files open at once, so you will need to switch back and forth if you have multiple things to check.
There’s nothing you can do with a backup file other than restore it into a regular Quicken file.

BUT, what you can do is to restore to a different name than that of your "production" file … so as to not overwrite it.
Thanks! I will try. This seems clear.
