Reconciling Issue

I last reconciled my bank account with Wells Fargo, month ending 11-26-2024 and marked all as reconciled…it was balanced. I hadn't touched my account since then and yesterday I downloaded all my transactions using direct connect as I usually do. I went in and tried to reconcile my month ending 12-24-2024 and it's off by over 1,000. I checked each transaction against my paper statement and everything looks good. I'm not sure how I should approach this. Should I delete all my transactions since I last balanced and start over.

It was about 3-1/2 months between downloading transactions? Many financial institutions do not download data covering that length of time. Have you confirmed that there are no missing transactions between 11/26 and now?
If all transactions are present: Is the Opening Balance transaction (the very 1st transaction in the account register) dollar amount correct? If you do not know what the correct amount should be, you could restore an old backup file (dated from before 11/26) to see what is shown there. If your current primary data file shows a different amount for the Opening Balance transaction, then edit it to match what is shown in the backup file.
Have you changed or reactivated the download connection since 11/26?: Scroll backward in the account register from today's date looking for duplicate transactions. If you find any, delete one and retain the other. If there are any duplicates they will likely be in the 90 days prior to when you changed or reactivated the download connection.
Did any of these things resolve the issue for you?

I've looked at 2 different backup files and both contain the correct opening balance. Also, I went thru each statement since I last balanced and no duplicate transactions. I haven't changed the connection since I set it up unless the bank has done something. I think I may forget about downloading transactions and just enter them manually. It seems like the downloading causes problems.

Ok, I went all the way back to when I started the file, 2021. I found where Quicken had dropped transactions mainly Best Buy transactions. I'm not sure how that happened because I would not have marked the statements as reconciled if I was missing transactions. Anyway, I am now balanced thru my last statement. Grrrrr!!!!

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about the missing Best Buy transactions. I'm not sure if or when you'll ever find out what happened to those transactions but I'm glad you got everything updated and balanced out now.
