Issue Downloading Security Transactions

Around 2/5/25 I purchased a security - TXRH - Texas Roadhouse Inc and started having issues where Quicken keeps assigning this security on some (not all) purchases (like 16 transactions that it applied this security vs the correct one). I'm having to fix each of these.

I have notice on this security TXRH - Texas Roadhouse Inc it has a CUSIP has a 000000000. I suspect this might be an issue but not sure and don't know how to fix or change the CUSIP.

Also note. I have my investment registers setup with a linked cash account. So I'm having to make a note in the linked cash account in the note field and put the correct security there vs deleting and readding which is too time consuming. NOTE: I have notified quicken before making a change in the security in the investment register does not correct the security name in the linked cash account.

I'm hoping some one can offer suggestions, I have already done the validate and repair data, but does not fix the issue.

I was thinking about deleting/readding the security but think that might create a mess for me?

Help!!

You are likely right that the bad CUSIP is the source of the problem. I suggest editing the TXRH security details to uncheck the box about matched to online security.

That should on the next download rematch or offer to match the downloaded security to your TXRH security. Hopefully that would bring in the correct CUSIP and avoid the mismatches.

    Hello @BRETTB,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I can see how frustrating it must be to have Quicken repeatedly assign the wrong security, especially across multiple transactions. I’d like to understand a bit more to see what might be causing this.

When you check the affected transactions, do they all originate from the same financial institution, or are they spread across multiple accounts? Have you noticed if this issue is happening with only this security, or have other securities been affected in a similar way?

Regarding the CUSIP showing as 000000000, do you see this in the Security List, or does it appear somewhere else in Quicken? If you attempt to edit the security details, is the CUSIP field locked, or does it allow changes?

For your linked cash account, when you correct the security in the investment register, does the incorrect assignment persist even after running a One Step Update, or does it revert only after new transactions are downloaded?

Let us know what you’ve observed—we’re happy to help figure this out!

Security was purchased only through one financial institution BUT this security has been download from other institutions/registers/accounts where I have to correct it. On the security list yes it was on the list yesterday but after I unchecked match security online, it's CUSIP of 000000000 seems to be blanked out this morning. Now I'm getting unidentified security on today's download which was only one transaction - reinvest dividend security.

On linked cash account. When I correct the security in investment account, quicken does not make the change in the linked account. I reported this on another post, instead of deleting and readding, I'm just adding a note on the link-cash account transaction of the correct security.
