Return (%) Year to Date

If you hold ETF's, CEF's and some other securities less than a year, you will get N/A in the portfolio register for Return (%) year to date.

Jim gave me a fix for this: Top right corner of the portfolio register click on the gear and preferences. Change the date to January 1, 2025. Then add column for ROI(%) YTD and you will get all securities. This is a great fix if you are only interested in this year's percentage returns.

Now, If I want to just view my returns and percentages for just my open positions, I'll change the date to the earliest when I bought the security. In my case, 11/27/2023 was the date set if I just want to view Total returns and percentages for just my open positions.

Thanks for posting this workaround, @Gary R. Here is some more detail.

Return (%) YTD and for other periods is supposed to be downloaded with the quote data but is not for ETFs.

ROI (%) is calculated based on your transactions. It may give unexpected results if there have been partial sales during the period.

I had no partial sales for all my open positions after 11/27/2023. Your suggestion was greatly appreciated and worked out just fine for me.
