Quicken register

Mark as paid

: Click Mark as Paid next to the bill. The bill instance is marked paid without an entry in your Quicken register. You can use this option if you paid the bill by cash or you paid excess a bill previously.

Still, it makes an entry in the register and when I download from the bank there are two entry

Quicken for Mac latest ver and update

Thanks

You don't click and drag from the register to Bills & Income, or vice versa. You click & drag one register transaction on top of the other register transaction. We're assuming that when you said "when I download from the bank there are two entry" that you meant there were two identical transactions in the account register - one created when you clicked "Mark as Paid" and the other downloaded from the bank. If that's not what's happening then could you provide some more details about what you're seeing?

If Quicken isn't able to automatically match the downloaded transaction with an already existing register transaction, you can always click and drag the downloaded transaction over the register transaction. This resolves the duplicate transaction issue.

And after download, to get rid of the 2nd entry, you click and drag that 2nd entry over the register transaction created by the "mark as paid" action.

@dave350 When you mark a scheduled transaction as paid it creates a transaction in the register. When a download from the bank includes that transaction Quicken should match the two so there's a single transaction. If that doesn't happen, then as @UKR has said you should drag one onto the other in the register to match them up and eliminate the duplicate.

I'm not sure where you're getting told that "Mark as Paid" doesn't create a transaction in your register, I can't think of an instance where it works like that.
