Asset Details for Automobile/Vehicle Do Not Save

In the asset area, I have vehicles saved as assets. Some are connected to loans and some are not. In the account details for each vehicle, there are fields that I can use to save all kinds of data for the vehicle, including values, connections to the loan and etc. Specifically, there is a contact and phone number available that I have used for recording the name of a person at a dealership or service department. It used to work but now it appears that the form is no longer connected to the database for these fields because they do not save data and from previously established vehicles, the data has now been lost. The screenshot shows the fields that are no longer functional inside of Quicken. All of the other form fields appear to work correctly. Wondering if this is an oversight or an intentional change in the database? Some of us use these fields!

Have you reported this to Q Support, via the link at the top of this page?
I haven't previously heard of this issue, so I don't know if it's a program issue or a corrupted Q data file issue. Have you tried taking a backup and then Validating your Q data file? Or "SuperValidating"?

I've pointed this out to support over the phone and also submitted a bug report. The phone support says that there is no need for the fields I'm trying to use so just put it in the comments. I disagree with their answer because it used to work and I've been using Quicken for many years with no issues regarding these fields. As a result, I have lost the data that I input on other vehicles with and without loans. So sometime Quicken has made an update and the fields for contact and phone in that vehicle asset form have become detached from the Quicken database and will no longer save data.

Sorry, I neglected to respond that we have repaired and validated the data file with no errors. So it is a change in the program and my data is okay.

Having just now done a bit of experimenting, these fields seem to save in "Asset" type accounts … but not other non-financial-Institution type accounts.
I'd call this a bug, not an intentional decision. It simply makes no sense as a decision since it works for some non-FI type accounts and not others.
Try reporting it as a bug.
