Quicken classic manual Windows: I found an explanation for Ending Balance & New Stmt Ending

But the explanation wasn't sufficient enough to decide how to use it. During a reconciliation of my credit cards, I have one Ending Balance that's it. So why do I now have two ending amounts that must be entered when I use the reconciliation form. They both have red stars (indicating the field must be filled before going any further).. I have never seen this before and I don't know where to enter my ending balance.
Also, my interest charged is in the middle of the month, but when I put that date in along with the interest amount, I get an invalid date. I only had both of these problems beginning in my books for 2025. Everything was running as usual 12/31/2024

Can you show us a graphic of that Reconciliation dialog. It doesn't need to have any data … just the dialog itself as I'm having a bit of difficulty in understanding just what you're seeing.
Also, what Q product, and what BUILD of that product are you running? This info is at HELP, About Quicken.

For the payments and charges fields, just enter zero. The statement balance goes in the fourth field.

I see what i did I guess I just had to exit out and start it up again. Somehow the date was blank and I was reading it as an amount.
New Statement ending and Ending Balance I thought a balance had to go into both. I looked at that for 2 hours and couldn't figure it out. I guess I was just tired. Sorry for wasting your time
