Copy and paste transactions

I just found that this is a ridiculous issue that Quicken have been dragging for long time.

Specially with split transactions. if you copy and paste one (i.e. because you are entering a bonus payment that is coming apart of your regular salary) the original transaction will disappear, like you modified the original transaction instead of just copying and pasting, and then changing the one that you pasted.

Like I said, this is ridiculous and Quicken need to resolve this like right now.

    Just my 2¢ …

Instead of doing "Copy transaction" and "Paste transaction" I have always just started a new register transaction and selected the Payee Name as needed. This would create a completely new transaction without disturbing previously recorded register transactions or Memorized Payee List entries.

In the event of receiving a bonus paycheck I made sure to use a different Payee Name for the bonus paycheck, e.g., "XYZ Inc. - Payroll", "XYZ Inc. - Bonus Paycheck". That kept them really separate.
