Unable to see the expected screen with menu options across the top [Edited]

I cannot get the "usual" screen, with menu across the top and selecting various tabs to come up after I reinstalled a new browser

Do you have the File/Edit/View etc. menu at the top of your screen? If so, click on View and then select Show Tabs. If necessary un-check Full screen at the bottom of the View menu.
