Brokerage accounts not updating

Version 8.1.1 (Build 801.56891.100)

Mac OS 15.3.2

I started a new brokerage account for bitcoin and the value populated correctly. It doesn't update. I assumed if I clicked the little refresh button it would, but nothing happens.

As you can see the updated date is the date I entered the account.

I have logged out and back in with no effect.

Hello @BillBelanger,

Thank you for letting us know you're running into this problem. To assist with this issue, please provide more information. Which financial institution are these accounts connected to? Are you seeing any error messages/codes when you try to update?

If these accounts are not connected to a financial institution, then is it the quotes and market value that are failing to update? If so, which holdings are you seeing this happen with?

Quite interesting is that I added 1 share of Tesla to see if that might update. It did, and then all of the bitcoin accounts started to update as well. I deleted the Tesla security, and the bitcoin accounts again would not update. So I added Tesla TSLA back in and again the bitcoin accounts will update.

I also would like to find a gold and silver index to link to if you know of a ticker symbol that Quicken Mac Business and Personal might track.

Currently, there is an index for tracking silver and gold in Quicken for Mac: PHLX Gold and Silver index, INDEX:XAU.X. We do have an idea post requesting that more functionality for tracking precious metals be added:

Please add your vote and a comment, if this is something you'd like to see added to Quicken for Mac in the future!

I'm testing in my own Quicken file to see if I can replicate the issue with INDEX:NQBT. Doing so can help narrow down if this is a file-specific behavior or a bug.

Thank you Kristina. I'm not sure what value having a combined gold and silver index is to someone trying to track an investment in gold or silver coins. They should be separate. It looks like that's available in the Windows version?

It is available in the Windows version, but not the Mac version. I can see the Idea requesting that functionality is currently showing as Under Consideration. I'd recommend bookmarking the Idea post if you want to track the status, since any updates, once available, will be posted there.
