Quicken downloading old transactions and opening up reconciled transactions?

I update my accounts every couple days. Yesterday, I noticed the update was taking an excessively long time to complete. While it was going on, it started asking me questions about transfers from an account I closed out in 2023. When it was finished, the balances for several of my accounts were egregiously overstated. I found that many account transactions for a bank account that has been operational for years had changed to 'Unspecified Account', in some accounts the opening balances were triplicated, in some accounts, transactions from 2023, 2024 and 2025 were changed from reconciled back to 'cleared'. I tried to 'fix' the account by reconciling and doing balance corrections, but it didn't impact the actual balances.

I eventually restored to last weeks backup, reran the update and everything went fine. What caused Quicken to freak out like this?? I use this software everyday for 15 years and have never had this happen!

Did you recently update the version of Quicken? If so, which version are you currently running (Help > About Quicken)?

Did you recently change the connection method of any of these accounts (i.e., Reset Account, Reauthorize, Deactivate and then Add Account or Set Up Now)?

I get updates almost weekly from Quicken and install them as soon as I'm prompted. I'm currently using Version R61.21, build 27.1.61.21.

I reauthorized my Citi accounts a short while ago, but those were not actually the accounts impacted. The accounts impacted were an American Express account, a checking account, a Kohl's Credit Card account, and a credit union savings account.
