Copy/Paste Issues on Windows 10 and R62.16 Build 27.1.62.16

I just got a brand new laptop with Windows 10. There are a number of cases (Charles Schwab for one) where I have to copy/paste holdings information from a web site to Quicken Classic.
After reinstalling Quicken on my nice new laptop I have a weird problem. When I Copy/Paste a value to Quicken….I get could values. This is also an issue on copy/paste passwords from my password manager.
Example
- I copy the value 110.00 from Charles Schwab, when I paste to notepad I get 110.00
- I paste the same value to Quicken and I get 110.00110.00…it essentially pastes twice.
- I copy the value "roger" from notepad and paste to Quicken in the Security Name I get "rogerreoger"
- THIS IS WHERE IT IS ANNOYING……Passwords in the password vault. I had to change a password. So I copy my password from my password manager. Let's say the password is "Quicken"…when I paste the password and do "show"…is pastes as "Quicken Quicken"
- This is painful when dealing with Vault passwords because I have locked myself out of various accounts (Fidelity, Chase, Schwab) because of this double pasting problem
This is a big problem. And YES I already checked Preferences → Setup → Windows standard is checked.
The funny part is the paste issue is not every field. When I paste in the "Search transactions" it pastes "roger". When I paste in Edit → Preferences → Search I get "rogerroger"
Any one have a solution?
I have been a Quicken customer for over 10 years, this is the first time I have had what I consider a major issue.

Hello @Eugene Robichaux,
Thank you for taking the time to explain what you're experiencing in detail. I can definitely see how frustrating this would be, especially with sensitive info like passwords and financial data.
From what you’ve described, it sounds like this could be related to a clipboard management or input method conflict on the new laptop, especially since the duplication happens in some Quicken fields but not others. While Quicken doesn’t have native clipboard handling that would cause this kind of behavior directly, it may be reacting to how another app or system setting is processing clipboard actions.
Here are a few suggestions you can try:
- Temporarily disable third-party clipboard tools or password managers – Some apps (like clipboard history tools or secure input handlers) can interfere with paste functionality and cause duplication. Try disabling these tools temporarily to see if the issue persists.
- Try using Ctrl+Shift+V instead of Ctrl+V or right-click → Paste – This can sometimes bypass formatting or duplicate input behavior, depending on what's triggering the issue.
- Run Quicken as Administrator – Right-click the Quicken shortcut and select Run as administrator. Sometimes access or clipboard integration behaves differently based on permission levels.
- Check for any custom keyboard or language input settings in Windows that may affect how text is processed and pasted.
Since you mentioned this issue is new on a brand-new Windows 10 laptop, it's possible that a background app or setting unique to this system is interacting with Quicken in a way that causes this duplication.
Let me know if the issue persists after trying these, and thanks again for being a longtime Quicken customer—we really appreciate your loyalty.

Thanks Jasmine. Ctrl+Shift+V worked. Looks like I have a clipboard manager on my new laptop.

what are your settings in Quicken Edit / Preferences / Setup / Keyboard mappings?
Be sure it's set to Windows Standard.Another thing to check on your new computer would be Keyboard Properties in System Control Panel.
Experiment with the settings of character repeat delay and repeat rate. If one of them is set too fast or too sensitive, pressing CTRL-V just a fraction of a second too long could trigger an unwanted second occurrence.1 -
You are very welcome, I am happy to be able to have helped!
