Better way to handle how to return a purchase made by credit card, it shows up as additional income.

When you return a purchase made by credit card, it shows up as additional income. Is there a better way to handle to and offset the original credit entry?

Record the return as using the same category as used for the original purchase. They'll net against each other and zero out.
