Password vault requirement for quotes update only

I created a scheduled update that ONLY updates quotes. But Quicken still asks for the password for the Password Vault! That's NOT needed and interferes with these updates running regularly. How to fix?

How about adding a Quotes icon to the Quicken Toolbar.
This will do the same as clicking the Update button in the Investing tab and selecting Quotes from the small popup, without running a full One Step Update process and without requiring the Password Vault Password.

How do you add a Quotes icon? I looked at the Customize Toolbar options but nothing had Quotes in the name.

In the Customize Toolbar dialog put a checkmark into the box "Show all toolbar choices" and it'll be listed.

I always have that checkmark enabled, but I've never seen anything named Quotes

@profilex. Which Q product, and what BUILD of that product are you running? Because, just now, I followed @UKR's instructions and QUOTES was immediately below Quicken.com.

The info I requested is at HELP, About Quicken.

    Quicken Classic Premier 27.1.61.21

If this a really new feature that would explain it, I only update when a release has been out for a while, seems stable, and the new/fixed change log details seem worth the risk

Super! That's all I really need. And that also bypasses the problem of my data file being password protected. Makes me wonder how many other very useful capabilities are really buried in Quicken. Now if I can just remember to click it regularly. Many thanks!

Your issue is not related to versioning, it has to do with the View setting. You need to set the view to Classic Menus, not Standard Menus. From there you will open an entirely new world. 😶

@GeoffG - I just tested this out and indeed the "Quotes" button (and many others) are not available when the Standard Menu is used. I think the Standard Menu was intended to work in conjunction with "Tabs". Duplicate functions available in "Tabs" are removed from being available in the Toolbar when the Standard Menu is used.
