I am running Win 11 and using Quicken Premier . Today my American Express Savings transactions have not been downloading into Quicken . I tried downloading from the American Express savings site error message " Quicken is unable to verify the data from this financial institution for this download please try again later.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Hello @jjrichards,
Thank you for reaching out to tell us about this issue!
To better assist you, could you please provide the following details?
- Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
- Upon reviewing your account, I do not see any internal errors occurring, so aside from not being able to download anything, are you seeing any errors occur on your end when attempting to use automatic downloads?
- Are you using a VPN while updating your accounts? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
- Do you have any antivirus or malware protection software running that may be interfering with Quicken? If so, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists?
- When did this issue first start occurring?
- Were there any significant changes to your system or software before the issue began (updates, new installations, etc.)?
Check back and let us know!

@jjrichards I just looked in the QFX file and the FI ID is "18858", and the FI Name is "American Express National Bank" which doesn't exist on Quicken FI List. This is why you are getting this error.
@Quicken Anja I am not sure why the FI id and name are not on the FI list? Maybe the FI has changed and needs to be updated in the QFX file?

I am now in Florida and using a FL Ip Address . That may be the issue why the transactions are not downloading

@jjrichards that shouldn't make any difference. The QFX file is the same no matter where you download it.

Hi I thought the same thing QFX file would be the same regardless of the IP address I am using .
I entered the transactions manually , then tried again downloading figuring I would get a flag to come up . No luck
Any other suggestions ?

For me, my AmEx credit cards and a Savings account download properly using "American Express" as the financial institution name.
To do this on your computer, deactivate all AmEx card accounts and the Savings account.
When done deactivating all, close Quicken, wait a few seconds and restart Quicken.
Now go to Tools / Add Account and pretend you're adding new AmEx accounts. Select American Express and follow instructions to login with your AmEx ID and password and authorize access for all accounts.
When you get to a screen showing all card and savings accounts, carefully select LINK to link each of the accounts found at AmEx to your existing Quicken account registers. If you don't do this correctly, new registers will be created.
After the download process completes review your registers and clean up duplicate transactions, if any.0 -
@UKR I think the issue is that American Express HYS provides the ability to download a QFX file for upload into Quicken. That QFX file does not work. Not all users want to connect using EWC or EWC+.
@jjrichards do you update your accounts manually using a QFX file, or do you automatically update transactions using one step update (OSU)? If it is the latter, then the steps @UKR describes would work the best for creating a link and downloading to Quicken. In fact, since the QFX upload doesn't work, it's the only way currently.
