Price quotes for Vanguard invest accounts don't update to current market prices in Quicken.

Using Quicken Classic for Windows. After checking, CUSIP numbers match between Quicken and Vanguard accounts. The problem appears to be isolated to Vanguard as TIAA and E-trade match perfectly. Price updates are failing with "One Step Update" or "Update Quotes Only."

Please give examples of the securities affected.

When you say the updates are failing, what exactly is happening? Are incorrect or out of date prices downloaded, or is there no price at all for certain dates?

There have been issues with Vanguard ETFs where sometimes the price is the price of the last trade and sometimes the NAV

Just looking at BNDX with a quote update this morning 4/28, I see the $49.42 price as of 4/25.

Please go to Tools > Security list and click on the name of the BNDX ETF to show the Security Detail view. Click on More then Edit price history. Post a screenshot of what you see there for the last few days.

If you are running Quicken Premier or up, the $48.99 price may be coming from Quicken's Real time quotes if that is enabled. That option includes prices from after hours trading. The option is at Edit > Preferences > Investments.

Another possibility is that the $48.99 price is coming from your broker. Is this a Vanguard account, or another brokerage? If so, which one?

Please let us know if Real time quotes is enabled. Disabling it will not fix past pricing errors, but may help going forward.

[edit] Also some of the mutual funds are way off in price, VHCAX for example. Are these held in a 401(k) account, where the fund is not the publicly traded version of the fund? If so, you should un-check the Download quotes box for these funds. This will let Quicken use the price downloaded from Vanguard when you update transactions instead.

I just got off the phone with Quicken Support and they showed the file was corrupted and could not be repaired so I am now working through updates to a new Quicken file.

    Thanks for your assistance.

Unless there are other problems, I doubt that you need to abandon this file, but thanks for the update.
