Keyboard shortcut to move focus from account list to transaction list and back (Q Mac)

Long time Windows Quicken user who recently converted to Mac.

I'm taking the opportunity to learn the keyboard shortcuts and can now do most things without having to touch the trackpad.

Perhaps there's a better view for reviewing transactions where this question becomes moot, but one thing that I can't seem to get working is moving focus between the account list and the transaction list.

After an update, I step through each account with new transactions in the column on the left. When the focus is in the account list, I can use the up and down arrows to move through the accounts, but I can't move into the transaction list with the right arrow or tab. So I have to click to move focus. After reviewing transactions, I can't left arrow or option tab or whatever back into the accounts list. I have to click again.

Any suggestions?

You're not alone in wanting better keyboard navigation between the account list and the transaction register. While there isn’t currently a built-in shortcut to move focus between these two areas, there is an active idea thread in our Community that’s closely related:

This idea suggests adding the ability to switch accounts using keyboard shortcuts, similar to what was available in older versions like Quicken Mac 2007. It’s aimed at improving keyboard-based workflow and reducing reliance on the mouse. The idea has been submitted for review and is currently under consideration to be added as a feature in a future release.
