Withdrw vs Withdrwx

Under Action in the account register, the action available is WithdrwX assuming I am withdrawing money from the account and transferring the money to another account. However, sometimes I am withdrawing the money and transferring the money on line to the State or Fed Govt directly to a personal expense such as taxes (Tax:Fed or Tax: State). With WithdrwX I have to transfer the money to my Cash Account and then place another transaction to show the personal expense, Tax:State.

However, when I Update Transactions using online updates and this payment of taxes to the state or fed gov't, this displays the Action as a Withdrw (no X) and the transaction is a single transaction. Why doesn't the Action table allow Withdrw?

@vicbrz - "Withdraw" is available but for some investment accounts the default is "WithdrwX". Not sure why.

If you want "Withdraw" and it keeps coming up "WithdrwX" the trick is to then click on "Edit" and choose "Withdraw" from that menu.

It's just one of those goofy things about Quicken. 😀

Thanks. Goofy is correct but it works.

If you use the "Enter Transactions" dialog in the investment account register, you will find a more complete list of available transaction types including those which are used for banking-type transactions like Write Check, Deposit, Withdraw, etc.
Try to use this dialog instead of entering transactions directly from the register and see if it works better for you.

If you use a regular, taxable brokerage account regularly for making banking-type transactions (as opposed to investment Buy, Sell, etc.), it might be a little more convenient if you let Quicken create a linked Cash / Checking account for you, to be used for entering your banking transactions. Scheduling reminders from your brokerage account is also supported when using a linked cash / checking account.
This account appears like a regular checking account register named the same as the brokerage account, but with a "-Cash" suffix.
See How do I use a linked checking account? (quicken.com) for more information.
