Received downloaded transaction from Fidelity that I don't know how to handle

Using Quicken Classic Deluxe (Version R62.16, Build 27.1.62.16 Subscription) on Windows 11 PC laptop.

A downloaded transaction from Fidelity is asking me to remove shares from my Cash Money Market Fund and I don't know how to handle it. The fidelity fund is Fidelity Treasury Money Market Fund that is my Cash repository for this particular Quicken account. The description says "Transferred From FZFXX to FC" (FC is short for FCASH). The Action is REMOVED.

What appears to be going on is Fidelity is no longer using the Money Market Fund as the main cash repository and is now using FCASH (which is not a security I can add) which is called “Liquid Cash”.

After backing up Quicken I accepted the transaction. I then selected “Remove shares from this account without affecting cash balance.”

The cash balance of the account stayed the same but my overall balance of the account was reduced by the amount of shares removed.

Below are the transactions as displayed in my Fidelity account

@brooksrs@ - I think you can simply use the "Remove" transaction to record the liquidation of FZFXX and "Add" transaction to record the new fund FC. It would make it easier if you set up the new fund FC (or FCASH) before you post the transactions to Quicken. Since both funds have cost and shares the same (dollar par), cost should remain accurate.

What you state is part of the problem. I tried doing what you said and as I stated above, FCASH is not a security/fund. It's a cash entity they called liquid cash and has no symbol. It's something new to me.

To better understand you account setup, do you show $0.00 for Cash balance or is that the amount in FZFXX?

@brooksrs@ your description of FCASH has a share value and a CUSIP number, which indicates that it is a fund setup.

The fund associated with CUSIP 315994103 is Fidelity® Investments Money Market - Money Market Portfolio - Institutional Class (FNSXX). This is a money market mutual fund offered by Fidelity.

First off, thanks for clarifying that FCASH is an existing fund. I have removed the shares and added them to FCASH. The cash balance remained the same.

One last question, will all cash transactions (div/int, etc) automatically go through FCASH now for my cash balance?

@brooksrs@ it depends on if the FCASH fund is listed in your fund lineup with a share, cost, and MV balance. If you look at your funds in your online account with Fidelity, is that fund listed, with a balance?

If so, then yes, your cash transactions should be swept into the fund.

If there is no position or balance in the fund, then the fund FCASH will still be used for transactions, but you will have a cash balance instead of a fund balance.

It is important that the FCASH fund in your Fidelity account and what you have set up in Quicken match. So if there is no balance in the FCASH fund in your Fidelity account, there should be no balance in the FCASH fund in Quicken. The balance is strictly a cash balance in both accounts. This is what @GeoffG was asking with his question.

Fidelity lists a cash balance being "held in FCASH" (their words) that matches what is in Quicken.

@brooksrs@ for clarification, does the balance held in FCASH have any shares associated with it. Also, is there a fund included in your fund lineup with that same balance, with shares?

Sorry for all the questions. I don't want to steer you wrong.
