I have 3 different Wells Fargo accounts that I download but transactions download to the wrong accounts in Quicken, and sometimes duplicate. I checked the account numbers and they are correct. How do I fix this?

    @ATodd some questions -

    1. How many total accounts do you have with Wells Fargo?
    2. Are they all under one sign on?
    3. What connection method are you using (DC, EWC+, or WC)?
    4. How many total accounts do you have set up on Quicken that use online connections?

    all accounts use the same sign in.

    @CaliQkn

    I have 3 Wells Fargo accounts that all have the same sign in

    I’m not sure what EWC, DC, means? I use the desktop version and download through that

    I have 5 other accounts from different banks that download just fine

    @ATodd ok sorry. Let's back up a bit. Go to your account list. The shortcut to get there is Ctrl-A. Look at the "Transaction Download" column for your Wells Fargo accounts. It should indicate "Direct Connect", "Express Web Connect+", or "Web Connect".

    This information is important because we can keep the same connection method or get a better one.

    @CaliQkn iy says Direct Connect while the others that download correctly says EWC+. Should I change the Wells Fargo to that as well?

    @ATodd - no don't change the connection. Direct Connect is actually the better connection. It was important to know the connection method upfront so it's not inadvertently changed during the reactivation process.

    I think your issue is that your accounts with Wells Fargo and not connected to the right accounts on Quicken. Here are the steps you need to take to ensure they are all correctly connected.

    1. Make a backup of your data file.
    2. For each of your three accounts with WF, go to the Online Services tab in Account Details and click on "Deactivate". Then blank out FI Name and Account Number on the General tab.
    3. Go to Tools and select "Add Account". Type in "Wells Fargo", then Wells Fargo should be listed under "Best Results".
    4. On the right panel, click on "Advanced Options". Click on "Continue" until you get to a screen that lists out the connection methods and select the second option "Direct Connect".
    5. If you see a screen that asks what type of account, choose "Banking accounts".
    6. Keep clicking next to come to the screen where you need to put in your user name and password.
    7. After entering your user name and password, you will then see a list of your accounts with Wells Fargo. Carefully link your accounts with WF to the accounts on Quicken.

    Your accounts now should be linked properly between Wells Fargo and Quicken.
