Reauthorization Linking (USAA) Making a Mess

I am having a host of quicken problems, posting in separate threads.

I had to (not sure why) re-setup download access to my USAA accounts. When doing so, carefully selecting which accounts should be linked where, the downloaded transactions made such a mess, I ended up restoring from backups. Tried it again for fun, and same problem. So, essentially, I can not use the feature to download transactions, which means there's really no reason at all to renew my subscription next week…

(I should add I did validate the file, FWIW.)

    Hello @operaflute,

Thanks for reaching out to tell us about this issue!

To better assist you, could you please provide the following details?

    • Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
    • Are you using a VPN while updating your accounts? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
    • Do you have any antivirus or malware protection software running that may be interfering with Quicken? If so, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists?
    • When did this issue first start occurring?
    • Were there any significant changes to your system or software before the issue began (updates, new installations, etc.)?

Your answers will help us diagnose the issue more effectively.

    Looking forward to your response!

Quicken data is on hard drive. No changes to system or general security software. (It's generally a bad idea to disable security when working with your financial data, anyway.) I believe this has actually been going on a few months, but I didn't realize it.

Not sure about VPN, because now I can not reauthorize at all, much less test linking. (with or without VPN). The window below now pops up instantly (so hard to believe it's a time out situation.) This error is new as of today and occurs with and without the VPN.
