Since I updated to 8.2, Quicken is excessively slow to enter transactions. Nothing else has changed in the accounts. I am using Quicken Classic Deluxe for Mac on a MacBook Pro 2019.

I haven't seen any slowdown in the latest version, and haven't seen other reports of this. The slowness you describe is often the result of a report window(s) being open behind the main screen. Please check the Window menu to see if there are any open windows, which would show up at the bottom of that menu, below Sync Errors.

I haven't noticed any slowdown entering transactions.

I have noticed a delay of about 3 seconds when switching back to the Home Dashboard from any other screen. That's the only unusual delay I'm seeing.

I'm experiencing a delay when entering, editing or deleting a transaction. I'm running Quicken Classic Deluxe for Mac v8.2.1 on a MacBook Air with OS 15.5. The delay started suddenly several weeks ago. It occurs after a keyboard command or a menu selection to create a new transaction, or after double clicking to edit, or after pressing the delete key to delete a transaction. It also occurs after pressing the Return key to complete the transaction. Entering the data within the transaction is OK. It is very noticeable and annoying.

@BarryOH In most cases, the cause for slow operation of Quicken Mac is that there is an open report window hidden beneath the main window. You're not aware of it because it's out of sight, but every time you enter or edit a transaction, Quicken is rebuilding the report.

Pull down your Window menu and see if anything is shown beneath the grayed-out "Sync Errors". This screenshot shows there are two open reports:

When you close the open windows, you'll find Quicken Mac returns to its normal, snappy self.

Please post back if this solves your problem or not. If not, please provide more details about the size of your data file and where exactly you have it saved on your Mac's hard drive.
