Sudden increase in H&B file size

After a revalidation (all payee detail had dropped from a check register) the size of my H&B data file doubled to 800 MB. It's only a problem because of a Dropbox storage limit, but I'm curious why it happened.

I moved from Windows to Mac, running Quicken H&B Windows using the Parallel Desktop, in mid-April, but the size increase seems only to have taken place over the last few days, and H&B otherwise runs better in a M4 Mac than it did on a 2020 PC. Is there any explanation for the jump?

    Wouldn't it have been better to restore your data file from a backup taken before the file got corrupted?
