I have been using Quicken for Mac for years. During recent downloads, I have noticed “uncategorized” transfers. Looking further the capability to add “transfers” in split transactions has been removed. Further, the window used to target “transfer accounts” [drop down list of all accounts] has been removed from the split transaction. I assume the application has been somewhat streamlined… but am looking for new “account entry transfer instructions”. I hope I have not overlooked, but this is a recent quicken software change.

I am hunting for directions on creating a account transfer [normally in split transaction] at the moment, and have not yet been successful [version 8.2.0, Build 802.57256.100]

I have located the issue after some searching. The “Transfer” Column had been deactivated in all accounts across the Board with likley the latest update. Went through all the accounts and rechecked the “ Transfer Column, and an additional column appears in the Transaction page (different than what I have seen in the past). Confusing at first, since this was a new action (uncheck transfer column) with a software update

Now that you have figured out the Transfer column's absence, I would like to recommend the following:

For best results manually enter transfer transactions into your register BEFORE you download transactions from the bank which contain the transfer confirmations. For recurring transfers use scheduled reminders and enter them a day or two before the due date.

Be sure to use distinct Payee Names for each transfer / credit card payment to avoid confusing Quicken - memorized payee entries.

That takes the guesswork out of the process of trying to build correct transfer transactions based on downloaded data. Because a correctly entered transfer transaction already exists in your account registers, the process should just match the downloaded transfer transaction to the already existing one in both accounts.
If it appears to create duplicate transactions on your Mac, simply drag and drop the downloaded transaction over the already existing correctly categorized transaction, to resolve the duplicate.
