My bank supplies me with a 15 digit reference number for each transaction. Quicken only accepts 12. Can you enlarge that space?

Also, the reference number does not allow the use of this format, "ab123-cd456." It thinks it is a subtraction. Help!!

I'm assuming the "transactions" you're referring to a payments out of your checking Account? Or are you referring to credit card charges or, maybe, investment transactions?

I assume the "reference number" is a bank-assigned number that acts unique identification for each transaction?

Are you entering that number manually in the Register when you record a payment, or is this number coming down to the Register via a download?

You say "Quicken only accepts 12 (of the 15 digits)" so It appears that you're using the "Check #" field and if that's the case then no, you can't change the number of allowable spaces, 12 is a hard limit.

You might use the "Memo" field or even add the "Notes" field into the Register and record the number there. You could continue to use the Check # field by dropping the minus sign and truncating the reference number's leading 2 characters if the leading characters only change very slowly over time.
