About Ready to Look for Alternatives to Quicken

I've been with Quicken for years and years. And I'm about ready to leave. I can no longer get my transactions to download from my bank accounts, (Classic Quicken). Nothing reconciles anymore. There seems to be no online help that I can find. There's the constant confusion between Quicken Canada and Quicken USA.

Most frustrating of all? When I try to download transactions, it makes me choose which existing account to import them to (never used to), and when I choose the correct one, it says that it doesn't exist.

And I see from this community that it would be foolish for me to expect any help on a weekend…..which of course is the only time I have time to work on this.

Quicken just wastes my time any more. What should I do?

We, other Q users, need a bit more info in order to help you.

What bank (as it's known in Q) is this happening with? One bank, or multiple? Can you download into other accounts in Q?

When you do TOOLS, Account List … what shows in the "Transaction Download" column across from the problem account(s)?

re: Reconciliation. Before that issue began, did you change the download method (Direct Connect, Express Web Connect, Web connect) into the account? That, and a few other things can cause the Opening Balance of the account to be changed (a known bug that's being addressed … but no known fix yet) which would prevent reconciliation. You might try restoring from an older backup TO A DIFFERENT NAME SO AS TO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR CURRENT FILE, and record the Opening Balance in each account with download … and then storing that correct OB in the Memo field of the transaction in your production file. Thus, if the OB gets changed again you can quickly spot it and know what to change the amount back to.

And, you reference both QUS and QCan … which are you running and what BUILD of that product? Do HELP, About Quicken for this info.
