Update lag

When I update my Quicken file I see that all my acounts have been accessed and updated so why is there a lag in what Qucken reports? For example, if a bank account balance was recently changed, there is a lag in showing those recent transactions and the actual current balance that I can see on the bank's website. The accounts are not updated with the most recent transactions. Is there a setting that can fix that? In other words, when I update Quicken, I would like Quicken to show the same transactions and balances that I see on the accounts websites.

When you look at the balance of the bank's website it may include "pending transactions" not yet posted and you just download posted transactions. Some folks enable "pending transaction" in Quicken.

Windows 11 (2 separate computers)..... Quicken Premier.. HAVE USED QUICKEN CONTINUOUSLY SINCE 1985.

I don't see where you can enable "pending transactions." Maybe the windows version is different. In fact Quicken says "pending transactions are ignored by Quicken until they are cleared by your financial institution" in the preference for what balance is shown in the sidebar. Maybe that answered my question, I can't fix this? But why does the balance immediately update in the mobile Quicken? I have "today's" rather than "online" or "projected balance" selected in both desktop classic and mobile versions.

@Harold Appel Quicken for Mac does not currently have a built-in setting to include pending transactions in downloads, unlike the Windows version. Some Mac users have reported that pending transactions appear in their online balance but do not download into their register.

I think if you change to "online" balance, it should always match your bank's balance.
