My DATE format changed.

Hello @Johnkav,
Thanks for reaching out!
The date format you're seeing is likely due to a change in your system's regional or date format settings—not something controlled directly by Quicken. To adjust it back to your preferred format (e.g., YYYY MMDD), you'll want to check and update the date format settings in your computer’s system preferences.
Please follow the steps below:
- Windows: Go to Control Panel > Region > Formats > Additional settings > Date tab, and adjust the short date format.
We recommend closing Quicken before making these changes, and in some cases, you may also need to restart your computer for the new settings to fully take effect.
Hope this helps!

@Johnkav check your date format settings in Windows. The settings may vary depending on what version of Windows you are using, but they shouldn't vary much.
Method 1: Using the Settings App (Windows 11)
- Open Settings:
Press Win + I to open the Settings app. - Navigate to Time & Language:
Click on Time & language in the sidebar. - Select Language & Region:
In the Time & language section, click on Language & region. - Access Regional Format Options:
Scroll down to the Regional format section and click on Change formats. - Adjust Date Formats:
Under the Short date drop-down, choose the format you prefer (for example, select a format that shows the date asdd-MM-yyyy
if you prefer all-numeric dates, ordd-MMM-yyyy
if you want the month abbreviated). - Confirm Changes:
When you select your desired format, the settings will update across the system.
Method 2: Using the Control Panel (Windows 10 & Windows 11)
- Open Control Panel:
Type Control Panel in the Windows search bar and open it. - Navigate to Clock and Region:
Click on Clock and Region. - Access Region Settings:
Click on Region. - Customize Formats:
In the Formats tab, click on Additional settings... at the bottom. - Modify Date Formats:
- Switch to the Date tab in the Customize Format dialog.
- In the Short date field, type your desired format (e.g.,
dd-MM-yyyy
for a format like "22-10-2024"). - If you want to update the long date format, you can edit that field too.
- Apply Changes:
Click Apply and then OK. Your changes should be reflected immediately.
After the date format is updated in Windows, you will need to restart Quicken for the changes to take effect.

WOW ! Those were fast responses. Thanks very much!!
I did the changes and it's back to date format that I'm comfortable with, (mm/dd/yyyy). I remember now that I did adjust the time on my desktop, on the bottom right hand, I wanted to show the Day, as well as the date. I didn't realize that that would have an impact on Quickens date entry.
thanks !!

Try making the Windows Taskbar taller so that it can display 3 lines of text in the Date / Time display in the lower right.
Move the mouse pointer to the top of the Windows Taskbar and, when the pointer changes to ↕ then drag up a little.0
