Giving up on Quicken Classic, it is just not worth it anymore.

Just fyi, I'm in the process of giving up on Quicken Classic. It crashes regularly. In between crashes, the One Step Update process randomly junks up account balances. The latest account balance to be junked up is my primary checking account. So, I restore a backup, but when I click One Step Update, it prompts for an account login, then prompts for my vault login, then indicates my subscription needs to be renewed. But it doesn't expire until October, and clicking renew results in a web display with an Oops error message. Now, Quicken flags all accounts as having a CC-800 error. [Removed - Profanity/Rant]

Now I'm getting CC-501 errors for all accounts that I'm trying to reset from the CC-800 errors.

@spratleywa It can be pretty frustrating when you get these errors in Quicken that don't seem to go away. And sometimes the fixes cause other errors. Eventually you get caught in a vicious cycle.

You don't mention what troubleshooting steps, besides restoring a backup, you have done so far. With all of the issues you have experienced, I think a "clean start" is a good thing to try.

    1. Validate your data file. Click on File→Validate and Repair File, then select "Validate". Click "OK". Review the "Validate & Repair log" for any messages that need to be acted upon.
    2. Super Validate your data file. Same as step #2, except hold Ctrl-Shift when clicking on "Validate and Repair File".
    3. Do a "Copy File" to create a copy of your data file. This process forces a rewrite of code and fix some file corruption issues. It will also clear out online connection "remnants" for all accounts. Click on File→Copy or Backup File, and select "Create a copy or template", and then click Next.
    4. On the next screen, leave the defaults as is. You can change the new file name and location, if you wish. Click on "Save Copy".
    5. During the copy process, you will be asked to provide a password for the new file. If you don't want a password, hit ESC.
    6. When the process completes, switch over to the new file.
    7. Before the EWC+ accounts are reactivated, go to each of your financial institutions’ websites and log into your online banking account. Locate the section where connected apps or third-party access is managed and make sure to unlink or disconnect Quicken from your accounts on the bank’s end. (This may be listed under "Security," "Settings," or "Authorized Apps" depending on the institution.)
    8. Reactivate online services for all accounts in the new data file.

If you search Quicken Support documentation, there are many troubleshooting and "how to" articles that can help with resolving your issues. If all else fails, maybe contacting Quicken Customer Support is in order.
