I would like to be able to import through quicken a date range each time or go back to a full import and have it not also import the transactions twice.
Hello @mam,
Thanks for reaching out!
At this time, Quicken doesn't offer a built-in option to download by a specific date range. The program simply brings in all transactions that you download from your financial institution. To help you avoid duplicate transactions or importing more data than needed, here are a few suggestions:
Download a custom date range from your bank: If your bank allows it, use their online portal to export a specific date range. Be sure to choose the QFX (Web Connect) format, as this includes unique transaction IDs that Quicken uses to detect and prevent duplicates.
Avoid overlapping date ranges: Try not to include previously imported dates when downloading new files. While Quicken does attempt to skip duplicates, this only works reliably if the transaction data (especially the ID) remains consistent.
Handling full-history imports: If you want to import a full range of transactions (for example, year-to-date), Quicken should ignore duplicates based on the transaction IDs. However, if you’re still seeing duplicates, it usually means the IDs have changed or are missing. In this case, Quicken will treat them as new transactions.

If you're still experiencing duplicate imports even after following these steps, please share the following:
We’ll be happy to help troubleshoot further based on those details.
@Quicken Jasmine would you please provide more details about the Find Duplicates feature?
I’m sorry for the confusion. I had located this information to share, however, after further discussion and review with my teams, this appears to be inaccurate and has been removed.
Thanks!
