quickfill with same payee but different categories with different amounts

I like to suggest a way to do a Quickfill into different categories when the Payee is the same but has different amounts. The case is Social Security (SSA). We have separate categories for my wife and my SSA checks. We also like to apply splits to each of the payments for Medicare. The payment amounts are different for each of us. If the Quickfill could use Payee + Amount (2 conditions) to run seperate quickfill rules this would be a solution to the problem. I would think there are a lot of people with a similar issue. Simple Example: SSA TREAS 000 XXSOC SEC *********** SSA $1000 and SSA TREAS 000 XXSOC SEC *********** SSA $2000. Only one rule gets applied to both downloads. Currently one of the downloaded items has to be edited every month. Please consider my suggestion

Are you recording tax withholdings and Medicare deductions from your Soc Sec deposits? Or are you recording net income only?

I would suggest you use Scheduled Reminder Transactions, one for your SSA deposit, one for your wife, named accordingly "SSA (Husband)", "SSA (Spouse)" and categorized to the appropriate income and expense categories for tax reporting. Set these reminders to execute on the correct "nth" Wednesday of each month, BEFORE you download transactions from the bank containing the deposits.
Doing it this way, you will have correctly defined transactions already in your register and Quicken will be able to match the downloaded transactions to what's in the register already, by amount if all goes well. If it doesn't, simply drag the downloaded (unmatched) transaction to the one in the register already.

Thank you for the suggestion. That sounds like it would work. I feel a quickfill would be cleaner not having the string of scheduled transactions hanging around in the registers.
