Confusing subscription renewal instructions. How to extend a subscription for an existing version?

I have a subscription that expires on 11/26/2025. I purchased an activation code that I want to use to extend the subscription. How do I do this? I don't want to update the version of Quicken currently being used via new install. I just want to extend the subscription expiration date.

When I access Enter Activation Code under Help in the Quicken program, I get these options:

I don't want to upgrade to the latest version of Quicken. Do I just select Enter a New Product Key even though it is not a new copy of Quicken?

Confusing.

@leishirsute you would choose the second option "Enter a new product key".

I'm not entirely sure, but it does appear that upgrading to the latest and greatest version of Quicken is baked into the extension process.

You might call or chat with Official Quicken Support to get a more definitive answer.

I'd think, though, that you could extend your subscription, get the latest version, and the "roll back" to whatever version you're using, as long as the version continues to be in the window of "supported by Quicken."

@leishirsute when you enter a product key it doesn't do anything except extend your subscription. The reason why you got the other option is because you haven't updated to the most current release.

But just in case, take a backup of your data file before you renew your subscription.

According to support, I am on the latest version of Quicken, R62.16, which is non-beta.

I selected "Enter a New Product Key" and it updated the expiration date in the online Quicken account to 11/26/2026. So it looks good. Although, the new expiration date does not display in the Quicken program under About Quicken. Maybe that takes time to update.

@leishirsute that is interesting. Maybe if you restart Quicken the new expiration date will be updated in Quicken. If it doesn't I would contact Quicken Support again.

The latest Version of Quicken is R62.19.

I had to Sign In as Different User under Preferences and just sign in again with my credentials.

    That updated the expiration date.

@leishirsute this is the screen I get with I click on Help→Manage Your Subscription→Enter Activation Code

Did you get this screen when you clicked on the second option? Just curious. I have seen other users who tried to activate and got a screen that asked them enter their name, address, and other registration information.

Yes. That is the option I got. I got the screen requesting name and address after entering the activation code.

@leishirsute ok thanks for confirming. I guess I never remembered that registration screen.
