Banking CD Accounts

Create a new account category under Banking as Certificate of Deposit. Complement this with canned reports for all things CDs, like Maturity Date.
I've been managing my CDs as Banking accounts because that's what they actually are. Banks consider them separate accounts and companies like CapitalOne and Discover will link them to Quicken and performs downloads. This all seems pretty natural. But, if you want to use the Quicken report, "Maturity Dates for Bonds and CDs" this setup won't work. Instead Quicken expects you to get all twisted up and track the CD as an Investment. This is definitely not natural or the way Banks work.
It there were an account type in Banking as CD as opposed to Savings it could contain all those unique fields that are part of a CD and provide functionality, like reporting, to manage them appropriately.
