Schwab SPI Accounts not downloading cost consistently

Hello - I'm using Quicken Simple Investing for several of these accounts as there are many securities in them. I've noticed that the cost doesn't download from Schwab consistently for certain securities. It seems to be related to how the name of the security if downloaded. For example:

CVS HEALTH CORP 5.25 DUE 02/21/33 works fine.

HOUSTON TEX 4.061 1.08481E-308O UTX DUE 03/01/35XTRO TAXBL is a problem and doesn't download cost. The description seems to be faulty in how it comes across from Schwab to Quicken.

I've tried to change the desciption to get it to work, but when updating the account, it gets replaced of course, so I believe this is an integration issue.

Anyone else run into this issue and/or have any solutions.

Thanks - Stacey

I didn't think "Simple" investing included cost basis information. Are you really referring to "cost" in that sense, or are you actually referring to "value" (# of shares x quote) ?

Quicken typically doesn't rely on the "name" of a security to shuttle downloaded information about a specific security into the correct "bucket" for that security. The two most important identifiers are Ticker Symbol and CUSIP Number, so I'd check those two fields for accuracy.

I've never used "Simple" investing so I'm not really familiar how it works, but I'd think one or the other of the two identifiers mentioned might be wrong.

I inserted a screen capture to show you what I'm seeing, Tom. For some, there is cost - for a few there isn't (e.g. Houston). It pretty much works like normal investing but the data is just downloaded from Schwab daily - you don't get transactions. For accounts with a lot of tickers, it's pretty handy IMO. I can't figure out how to see the CUSIP in Quicken - it doesn't look like it an available field?

    Thank you for the feedback!

I did find out how to view the CUSIP. The CUSIP for the ones that aren't showing cost is BLANK, so that is likely the problem. Anyone from Quicken viewing this to give me some guidance about how to approach this? Sounds like it is an integration issue between Schwab and Quicken if the CUSIP isn't coming across…
