Bank Reconciliation $50 Short in Q13

Hi Everyone –
I’m at a loss.
I tried to reconcile my last month’s checking account statement only to discover that I’m short $50 on the Quicken “Opening Balance” side. I am using Quicken Deluxe 2013 Release R12 (22.1.12.7) on WIN 7 (about to shift over to a newer WIN 11 computer).
My previous month was reconciled in Quicken with no problem (as I recall), and it populated this month’s “Opening Balance” with that previous month’s ending balance (short the $50). I’ve been over my accounts and I can’t find a $50 error or a $25 compounded error. And I carefully reviewed my bank statement. But I can’t figure what happened.
Has anyone had this type of problem before, or can anyone suggest a solution?
In a similar vein, is there anyway to go back and recreate a previous reconciliation once it has been completed?
I have transferred $50 from a miscellaneous income category to my checking account to “solve” the problem. But I would like to determine where I went wrong.
Thanks for your help.
PS: I thought I posted this a few minutes ago, but I can’t find it. So here is the question again.

If the beginning balance of the reconcile is changing from what they were, it is because the Reconciled transactions have changed.
The opening balance of the reconcile is the sum total of all of the R transactions in the register and is calculated at the time of reconciliation and not stored for future reference.
What could change that # is one of the following:
- a blank or C was changed to a R
- an R was changed to a blank or C
- the amount of an R was changed
- a new transaction was marked R to begin with
- a R transaction was deleted
As far as redoing a reconcile, you would have to revert to your last backup and redo anything you have done again. Unless that backup was made just before you started the reconcile, you are probably looking at a lot of work.

Thank you. That is an A-1 answer. Excellent job. I will hunt and peck tomorrow to see which culprit is guilty.
Again, thank you.

By the way, might you be able to direct me to some kind of FAQ explaining the new features of Quicken Support? I have not asked a question in a while, and I don't grasp the new Simplifimoney.com dimension and its support features as compared to this support venue. Thank you.

Quicken Classic (Desktop) and Simplifi are two separate products and have their own support staff and user forum, Forum - Simplifi.
As far as Simplifi goes, I know nothing about it except that is it strictly online in the cloud and have never used it or even looked at it.
