I'm on window and using quicken 2011 deluxe.

I have to upgrade my desktop because of end of live of windows 10 and so would like to go to the classic subscription. What are the best steps to accomplish this. Upgrade quicken first and then move to the new computer? Thanks much…

@ebd I would install the new subscription Quicken on the new computer and then open your current data file. But I think either way will work fine. Your current Quicken data file is compatible with the current subscription version of Quicken. So essentially all you need to do is open the data file in the current subscription version of Quicken on your new computer.
Here is some information from Quicken Support regarding moving Quicken from one computer to another.
There are several links in the document. You can ignore the ones about converting your file. Quicken 2011 doesn't need converting before it can be opened in the current version of Quicken. When you first open the data file, it may go through some conversion steps, but there is nothing you need to do manually.

I'd install subscription Quicken on the new computer and move a copy of the data file to it and open it there. Quicken will open and convert the older version data file to the subscription data format and you should be good to go.
You can then check the account summaries to make sure that they agree between the two installations.
When you buy subscription, don't buy Starter because it doesn't support all of Quicken's features and they just might be ones that you want, like Tags.
