Loss of all my data

When I tried to open my account this morning there were changes to my program made by Quicken, when I tried to open my account I ended up losing everything

I don't understand the questions Quicken asks and it is always very difficult to navigate you software!

- Can you clarify what you mean by “losing everything”? Were your accounts, transactions, or entire file missing?
- Did you receive any error messages when trying to open your account?
- Had you made any recent backups of your data before this happened?
- Did Quicken prompt you for an update when you opened the program?
- Do you recall if your file was stored locally on your computer hard drive or on a cloud-service like Dropbox or OneDrive?
- Was this your usual Quicken file, or were you asked to create or select a new file?
