Can't record the sale of my shares

I have 1500 shares to sell and it shows 1500 in holdings. They have been sold, I am just doing the recording on Quicken.

When I try to record the sale, only 900 shares are available, says I don't have 1500.

I added these shares years ago.

If I am truly desperate, could I sell all my 900 available shares at a higher price?

Try doing EDIT, Preferences, Investments and checking "Show Hidden Transactions".

When you go into the investment account that holds the security, are there any Placeholders for the security? And, in the "Share Bal" column adjacent to the most recent transaction in the security, what shows?

If you click on the Security column header, do you see all (and only) the transactions in this security that you expect? After looking at that, you can click on the Date header to re-sort the account.
