Past cleared payments to USAA credit card account marked uncleared after update

I was able to get my USAA accounts (and Chase and Citi Bank) updating and downloading transactions after a previous online update session had deauthorized all my online banking in Quicken for some reason. I thought all was well until this morning when my USAA credit card account update marked uncleared 15 previous cleared payments going back as far as November uncleared. The curious thing is that the reconciliation page has the right cleared balance, the right Statement ending balance, a difference of "0" which is all and good, however, the running balance in the Quicken register is off by several thousand dollars. If I start checking off the past transactions now marked as uncleared as cleared the difference at the bottom of the reconciliation page goes out of whack. Is anybody else having something like this happen? I obviously need to have the running total in the register be correct, but not sure how to make the fix.

    Hello @Richard181,

    Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. If this issue started immediately after an update, then I recommend you try restoring a recent backup from before that update happened, and test to see if the issue is resolved in the newly restored file.

    I figured it out. When I reauthorized transaction downloads it mistakenly downloaded transfers from my checking account to my Visa account as payments rather than as transfers to my college age son's checking. Once I figured out what had happened I was able to make the corrections. Previously I had stopped doing downloads from my son's account and was no longer tracking it and reconciling it as I had done in year's past, this in prep for taking my name off what had begun as a youth account. I had been marking these transfers in my account as payment categories rather than transfers. That's what confused Quicken when it began downloads of all accounts again. It is all fixed now. Thanks.
