Make a Quicken BACKUP BEFORE you Activate!
Quicken user for 20+ years. I make a local backup after making quicken entries. Make a compute backup before Activation! I opened quicken, entered about 10 items, reconciled a couple of accounts. I had a bank account open on the web. Decided to go ahead and active. Had my code, entered the 16 alphanumeric code, got the green check. Then I have to enter my name and address. Another database exposure for hacking? Did "File Open" my just entered data is GONE! Not in automatic or manual backups. REALLY POOR PROGRAMMING LOGIC on the part of quicken. There needs to be a WARNING: Make a backup of your data! before the Activation process begins. I got past the new quicken A.I. "assistant" to a real human at quicken. Tell him about the issue. He can't tell the quicken programmers about the issue.
So program activation - zero stars
Customer service - negative stars
Also, check your quicken automatic backup directory. When I moved to a new computer, I found 59 backup 14.3 GB of space, so this was a good discovery due to the deficient quicken programming logic. Since I do manual backups, I had no idea these automatic backups were even there. On a Windows computer look in …\quicken\backup
