Reconcile in middle of account

Quicken 2004 on Mac: I have a checking account that hasn't been reconciled (for several years). I would like to start reconciling as of 1/1/25. Is this possible?

Yes, you can reconcile as of 1/1/25 (or possibly 12/31/24, if that is the year-end statement you will be reconciling to). The thing to know is that you will be reconciling all prior unreconciled transactions up through the reconciliation date — so there will be be several years of transactions in the reconcile window. You can click the "Mark All as: Cleared" button so you don't have to click each item individually, and uncheck any items which did not clear and appear on you're statement s of 12/31/24. If your reconciliation isn't balanced at that point, you will either need to hunt down the discrepancy(ies) or enter an adjustment to zero out your reconciliation so you can move forward with subsequent months this year.
