Security Mismatch Between Fidelity Download and Quicken (new)

I have viewed several posts on mismatched securities, but they are not helping me with my issue. Hence I am starting a new post.
Issue: when I download Fidelity transactions, American Express shares are recorded as shares with "AXP" ticker (correct), but "AMD" description (wrong). I tried to trace this and can report the following.
When I look at Online Center - Holdings for this account, there are two "AMD" entries:
- Description = "Advanced Micro Devices Inc", Ticker "AMD". This is the "real" AMD. The number of shares matches the Fidelity Website.
- Description = "AMD", Ticker "AXP". The number of shares matches the Fidelity data of "AMERICAN EXPRESS CO COM USD0.20" Thus, this is really American Express, which is erroneously being downloaded as AMD!!
- When I double-click on #2, it shows as description: "AMD (AMERICAN EXPRESS CO COM USD0.20" You can see here that things are messed up [Edited - Language]. (Why? How do I fix it?)
- When I reconcile the account with the online data, it shows no errors - presumably it uses the ticker to match data.
- Note, I have downloaded security data from Fidelity to a CSV file, AXP is identified there as "AMERICAN EXPRESS CO COM USD0.20" without any mention of AMD. So the error is on the Quicken side of things.
- I suspect that I may have made a mistake some time ago in the Quicken Security Mismatch dialog — but how do I fix this?
Looking in Quicken at the Account - Holdings:
- There are shares for Name = "Advanced Micro Devices Inc". When I click on the Name link, I get the Security details showing a ticker of "AMD". Edit Details shows a check for Matched with online security. Security list shows a CUSIP ID. Again, this is the "Real" AMD and all is as it should be.
- There are also shares for Name = "AMD". When I click on the Name link, I get the Security details showing a ticker of "AMD" (Yes, both the name and ticker in this dialog are the same. "AMD"!). Edit Details shows a check for Matched with online security. Security list for AMD ticker shows a CUSIP ID. This is a problem: Quicken has TWO DIFFERENT securities with the same ticker and different names!
- I have the same issue in a different account, with similar investments. In that account, I was getting errors about the data not matching Fidelity, I found the "fake" AMD entries and manually deleted them, then manually added the American Express entries from Fidelity website. So, that account shows "Advanced Micro Devices Inc" with "AMD" and "American Express Co" with AXP". The security details for AXP show that the checkbox is NOT checked and there is no CUSIP id in the security list.
Thus, the problem appears to be that in the download process of the Fidelity data Quicken already assigns the wrong name to the American Express shares, as this problem already shows up in the on-line center. This is happening for downloads on two accounts in the same Quicken file.
How do I fix the Quicken download from Fidelity for American Express shares so they do not arrive as AMD shares?
I am using Quicken Premier R63.21 on Windows 11.
Thanks, Adriaan Sachtler

Hello @Adriaan_S,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering an issue with the security name reflecting incorrectly. To clarify, you manually corrected the holdings in your investments, but it continues to download incorrectly?
If that is the case, have you checked your security list (Tools>Security List) to verify if the incorrectly named security is still there?
If it is in the Security List, I recommend backing up your file, then deleting it (if it won't let you delete it, then that means there are still transactions associated with it).
I look forward to your reply!
