Slow Performance

Quicken has been getting slower and slower in recent years. I've been using it since 1989 and never archived the older years. Would that improve performance? I see that Quicken no longer recommends archiving. Are there other ways to speed up performance? I'm using the latest version of Quicken for Windows R63.21.
