Why does Quicken regularly accesses my credit union account without my authorization?

I receive alerts from my credit union when my accounts are accessed on line. I have that alert set for security purposes. Every day for the last several days, I get a notice that someone has logged into my account. When I checked with my credit union, they told me it was Quicken. Why do you do this? I only want you to access my accounts when I activate the One-Step Update feature in my Quicken Classic. Do you do that to all the accounts for which I have saved login credentials in my Quicken Classic program?

SO, following up on @CaliQkn's reply, the only way to turn off those nightly updates is to discontinue the use of Express Web Connect(+) with that credit union.

If the CU offers Direct Connect, you can switch to that OR
you can manually initiate the downloads from the CU's website with Web Connect OR
you can just accept Q's current practice OR
you can change to another financial institution that isn't so persnickety.

I guess the moral of this story is that the answer was in all that fine print that no one reads. I will say, however, that when I first went to set up the account for the downloads, I did not see that in the terms I scanned. I found it interesting in the support article that it appears MAC users don't get treated the same way. I find that interesting. It makes me want to jump to a MAC. And I was aware that I could download directly from the credit union's website with Web Connect and had been doing it until I got tired of that. Finally, I don't consider my credit union's handling of this as being persnickety. It is up to each account holder to determine what they find concerning. So I'd rather know and disregard than not know.
