Be able to change or edit an accounts "type" allowing an account that was set up as a "cash" account could be changed to a savings or checking account type.
Why not simply create the desired account type and move over the transactions, after doing a backup?
MUCH simpler than what you're requesting … which I'd vote against if such was possible.
