Why can't Quicken fix Merrill updates

Since the EWC Merrill update my Quicken experience has gone downhill. Every day I get a "is the the same stock as XXX", or "I want to rename a stock to a wrong name". See the screenshot for an example. The rename suggested is wrong. Quicken want's me to rename GS.D to the same name as GS, and I own both. I have been using Quicken since the DOS days and this is very frustrating. I hope the CEO who uses Quicken every day is listening.

    Hello @Greg Lampe,

    Thanks for reaching out!

A couple of quick questions to help pinpoint the issue:

    • Did this behavior start immediately after Merrill switched to Express Web Connect (EWC+), or did it appear later?
    • Are you seeing these rename prompts for every update, or only when certain securities download?
    • Have you tried reviewing the Security List in Quicken to confirm that both GS and GS.D have distinct symbols and are not linked?
    • Are the prices or share counts for these securities still updating correctly despite the rename prompts?
    • Have you noticed similar incorrect rename suggestions for any non-Merrill accounts, or is this strictly affecting the Merrill connection?

    Looking forward to your response!
