New Mac and Quicken Freezing

I am running Sequoia 15.6 with Quicken Classic v 8.2.1.

It started with a transfer of my old Mac to new Mac using migration assistant. Quicken opened, but I have "backup automatically" turned on. When I exited Quicken would freeze and spinning beach ball, causing me to force quit. I could launch Quicken and everything would open fine, but if I went into Settings and clicked backup location, Quicken would freeze with spinning beach ball.

I changed the properties file to try and force a fresh start. When Quicken launches I choose "Restore from backup" and same thing - freeze. I completely uninstalled Quicken and rebooted, then reinstalled, same issue.

Whenever I try and restore from backup or click Backup settings I get freeze and beach ball. Any ideas?

Solved - after deleting Quicken I needed to go into /User/Library/Application Support and delete the Quicken folder there. I then shutdown. Once started back up, I installed Quicken and it prompted me to give permissions to specific locations, which had not happened on prior attempts. I knew this was a permissions issue, but couldn't sort what or where the permissions were missing. Deleting that folder ensured a fresh install with proper permissions given. Mischief managed.

One word of caution in case anyone else finds this in the future. The default location for your Quicken data file is a Documents folder inside the Application Support folder. If that's where your data file is, move it somewhere else before deleting the Application Support folder so you don't lose it.

(If you're not sure where your file is located, go to the File menu in Quicken and select Show "filename" in Finder.)

And the default location for the Backup folder is also within the Application Support > Quicken folder, so be careful not to delete that inadvertently.
