after downloading transactions, I'm 12,000 in the red.
After downloading transactions, I'm 12,000 in the red, and I actually have $9470.00 in the account minus outstanding transactions, which leaves me with around $2000 - $3000.
this has happened before but not as bad. The only change was I have been in the hospital a lot and have not balanced in three months, and I upgraded to win 11. I did find several duplicates and triplicates in the download, I was at $30,000 in the red.
Has anyone else encountered this.
Quicken makes way to many mistakes and I spend a lot of tim fixing them I'm droping quicken and going back to paper!!

First please make sure that your account register is properly sorted by Date in ascending order, newest transactions at the bottom of the register.
Does your running balance now make sense? Is it closer to reality?Next, check your account register's Opening Balance transaction. If you had to deactivate / reactivate or reauthorize your account, there's a good chance this transaction was incorrectly updated. It shouldn't have been …
Edit the transaction's amount to correct it to what it needs to be (most likely 0.00 if you started as a new account)Now go back in time in the register to the date where you last successfully reconciled the register. Does the balance on that date match the printed bank account statement on that date?
If it does, continue to compare register transactions to transactions on the bank account statements, one after the other in date order. Resolve any discrepancies: execute past due reminders; delete duplicate downloaded transactions and/or match downloaded transactions to already existing register transactions (helps to eliminate duplicates); add missing transactions; make any other changes as needed to correct amounts, categories, payee names, etc.
When done with one month of transactions you should be able to reconcile this month's transactions to the bank statement and your register's running balance should match the amount on the statement ending date.0 -
Hello @Frankie Raney,
Thank you for reaching out!
I agree with @UKR's guidance.
Please give it a try and let us know how it goes!
