Manual access to Investments categories

When I buy a bond, treasury, or CD at Schwab, Quicken correctly assigns the Investments:Buy Bonds to the transaction. But when the security matures, the way Schwab reports the transaction does not cause Quicken to properly record the result in the Investments category (Investments: Sell Bonds).

This is a real problem.

To solve this I would like to have manual access to the Investments categories. You could make this an opt-in feature with a warning of some kind.

If you haven't done so already, I'd say it's time to contact Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation and report this problem. Let them do a screen share session with you to review the situation on your computer, to determine the nature of the problem and to figure out how to fix it.

Meanwhile, have you tried changing the Transaction Type to the correct Sell Bonds type? You may have to manually record a Sell Bond transaction and delete the incorrect downloaded one.

No, the Investments category and all its subcategories (e.g. Sell Bonds) are used internally by Quicken and are not accessible to the end user. Try it yourself and you'll see. (Unless it is different on Windows - I'm on Mac).
